So much has changed over the course of 62 years but the rite of spring to engage the community in the Festival of Sport has remained an annual constant no matter the vagaries of place and time thanks as ever to our people eager to participate and now to the largesse of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. We have our districts, each district, which nonetheless need and wish to compete and test each other in the best civic spirit. This has been done since 1957 and has become a part of our collective identity. Whoever wins everybody wins for such is the intent of the Festival, perennial and ever popular.
